Website Design Questions

How long does it take to build a website?

A standard business website (5–15 pages) typically takes 2–4 weeks from start to launch. The timeline depends on how quickly you provide content (text, photographs, logo), how many revision rounds are needed, and the complexity of any custom features. E-commerce websites and sites with mobile money or booking system integration take 4–8 weeks. We provide a specific timeline estimate at the start of every project.

Will I be able to update the website myself?

Yes. All websites we build use WordPress — the most user-friendly content management system available. Once your website is complete, we provide a basic training session (via WhatsApp video call or in person in Kampala) covering how to update text, add blog posts, change images, and manage pages. You do not need any coding knowledge to update a WordPress website. For businesses that prefer not to manage updates themselves, our website maintenance packages include monthly content updates.

Do I need to provide the content, or do you write it?

We can write the content for your website as part of the project — this is often the best approach because we write content optimised for both search engines and human readers, covering the right topics for your industry and location. If you prefer to provide your own content, we will give you a content brief specifying exactly what is needed for each page. Many clients provide the basic facts and key points, and we expand these into well-written, SEO-optimised page content.

Can you work with my existing domain and hosting?

Yes. If you already have a domain name and hosting, we can build your new website on your existing setup. We will review your current hosting and advise if it meets the performance requirements for a fast, secure East African business website. If your current hosting is inadequate, we will recommend an upgrade as part of the project. We also assist with domain registration if you are starting fresh — including .co.ug (Uganda), .co.ke (Kenya), .co.rw (Rwanda), and .com domains.

What happens after the website is launched?

After launch, we submit your sitemap to Google Search Console and Google Analytics, verify all pages are indexed, and monitor for any post-launch technical issues for the first 30 days. We then hand over full control of the website to you. For ongoing support, SEO, or maintenance, our monthly packages are available — or you can manage independently. We are always available for one-off support requests at an hourly rate.

Mobile Money and Payment Questions

Which mobile money platforms do you integrate?

We integrate all major East African mobile money platforms: MTN Mobile Money Uganda, Airtel Money Uganda, M-Pesa Kenya, MTN Mobile Money Rwanda, Vodacom M-Pesa Tanzania, and Airtel Money Tanzania. We also integrate international payment gateways including PayPal, Stripe, and Flutterwave for businesses accepting international card payments. See our mobile money integration page for full technical details.

Can customers pay on my website using mobile money?

Yes — and this is one of our most commonly requested integrations for Uganda and Kenya businesses. Customers can pay directly on your website using their MTN Mobile Money or Airtel Money PIN (Uganda), or M-Pesa (Kenya). The process: customer selects payment option, enters their mobile money number, receives a push notification on their phone, confirms payment with their PIN, and the transaction is processed instantly. This is the most trusted and widely-used payment method for East African consumers, and dramatically increases online conversion rates.

SEO and Google Questions

How long does SEO take to show results in East Africa?

SEO for East African markets typically shows meaningful results in 3–6 months for competitive terms, and faster for lower-competition local searches. For example, a Mbarara business can rank for “hotel Mbarara” relatively quickly because there are fewer well-optimised competitors than in Kampala. A Kampala web design company targeting “web design Kampala” will take longer. SEO is a long-term investment — results compound over time, and the traffic and leads generated continue for years. Do all your websites come with SEO?

All websites we build include basic on-page SEO — Yoast SEO configuration, meta titles and descriptions for every page, proper heading structure, image alt text, XML sitemap, and Google Search Console submission. This is the foundation that allows Google to properly index and rank your site. Ongoing SEO — link building, content strategy, ranking optimisation, and monthly reporting — is available as a separate monthly retainer and is what drives continued improvement in Google rankings over time.

Payment and Project Questions

How do I pay for my website project?

We accept payment via MTN Mobile Money (Uganda), M-Pesa (Kenya), MTN Mobile Money (Rwanda), bank transfer (Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania), and international card payment. Website projects are typically 50% deposit on project commencement, 50% on completion and delivery. Monthly retainers are billed monthly in advance. See our pricing page for indicative costs.

Do you have a physical office?

We are based in Kampala, Uganda, and serve clients across East Africa remotely via WhatsApp, video call, and email. Most of our project communication is handled digitally, which allows us to serve clients efficiently from Nairobi to Kigali to Dar es Salaam without requiring in-person meetings. For Kampala-based clients who prefer face-to-face meetings, we can arrange this. Contact us to get started.
